Asthma Care - Pollution

People with asthma can be affected by outdoor and indoor pollutants.

Areas with increased air pollution tend to have higher rates of asthma and other lung diseases. Some of the outdoor pollutants we are exposed to on a daily basis are Ozone, Carbon Monoxide, Sulphar Dioxide, Lead, fuel emissions, etc.

Indoor pollutants can also affect asthma sufferers. Mould and fungi grow in damp or high moisture conditions, and decaying organic matter can irritate those with asthma.

There are many studies completed and underway that link pollution and respiratory disease. We plan to bring you more information about such studies soon.
